Living Room Re-Mix

Good morning and happy Monday! Back from another break from blogging! Spring break was last week and we had a BLAST in Port Aransas with a few of our couple friends. Ate delicious seafood every meal, toured the island, and sat our bums in the sand for about 95% of the trip. It was amazing weather and a relaxing getaway. Not so relaxing when you have to go strait from the beach to Dallas for a recruiting trip but I'm loving the new job and the travel is exciting! Saw lots of friends and family in Dallas, but I was ready to get home to my dusty little Lubbock town. And my dog of course.

So on the blog today is our newly decorated living room! Still a work in progress and probably always will be since we spend so much time in here. Almost every time I sit on the couch to eat or watch TV I'm looking around thinking about the little things I want to do to this room. So check it out with our new furniture and trinkets and let me know what you think!

Remember when I was collecting these brass babies from thrift stores around town? See this post for what I am planning on doing with them!

Obsessed with my new rug from potter barn! It was a Christmas gift from my mother and a steal at the Pottery Barn outlet on black Friday! (Yes we did that.) (Also don't mind chuck's feet in the picture!)

This chair is one of the most stylish/comfortable chairs I have every sat in. My thought was to do two of the target slip chairs but when Chuck sat it one he absolutely hated how uncomfortable they were for a long period of time. So we returned one and found this baby at World Market! We are obsessed with all of their furniture!

Still trying to figure out a way to cover those ugly black boxes! So nasty.

I have been craving for some blue velvet in my house since we moved in. Why? I have no idea. But this slipper chair from Target (similar) was the perfect fix! The brass lamp you ask? $10 at a thrift store :)

Also this is ranger's ottoman. My beautiful cream pottery barn ottoman has been taken over by my black lab and it will never come back to me. I've come to peace about it and he understands that it is the only furniture piece he is allowed on. I mean how can you say no to that little face? And he keeps my feet warm when I'm watching my shows!

So here are the stages of the living room to date - get ready for more in the future!

  1. Really love the mix of all the metalics. Looking to do something similar in my bedroom.
