Easter Best For Less

Happy Easter weekend! I hope this weekend is full of chocolate bunnies, deviled eggs, pretty new dresses, polka bow ties and family fun. Easter is a holiday like no other where it's a celebration of such a significant event that has changed all of our lives more than any other event in history. Christ died to make us free from sin. Free. I was reading Matthew 27 last night on the eve of Good Friday and one verse stuck out to me like it never had before, I read "they were raised to life", not raised from the dead - raised to life. This is what Christ wanted for all of us when he made that sacrifice - to be raised from our sins and to live our whole life for him. We aren't perfect but he gave us grace, which is way better than chocolate bunnies. I wish each of you a very Happy Easter and hope that this weekend is full of joy and memories!

51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and[e] went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

A Puppy Party

Good morning friends! This past weekend we celebrated Chuck's, our friend Ryan, and of course Ranger's first birthday. "Guy" birthday themes are so difficult - it's either beer tasting or bbq. Neither one has cute decorations.. so we went with "puppy" themed.. obviously. If you google "puppy party" apparently it's super trending with 2-5 year olds - so we adapted a bit to make a it a bit more "adult"...

Please don't look at the color of the punch - note to self - don't mix pineapple juice, red koolaid (on accident) and blue color die. Tasted great - just couldn't look at it!

Our hot dog bar! Favorite's were of course the Chuckle-Pup Dog and the Relish Ryan...

Long story with the cake. Let's just say we think the last minute brownie dog bones were a huge success :)

Puppy chow favors for the humans and dog bones for the puppy friends!

And people SAT AT OUR PICNIC TABLE! I was just way too excited and had to snap some pictures of our inaugural picnic table times.

Please also disregard that this wife didn't think about buying bday candles - I'm not the first right? And a tea light is like the same thing?

Happy 25th birthday boys! To many more parties and puppies to come!

(Shout out to David who is probably shrieking for joy that he landed a spot on the infamous Hailey Berry Blog)

Picnic Time

It's that time of year! Spring is here and we are grearing up for outdoor bbq's, nights at the park, wine on the porch and enjoying the hot days and cool nights while they last. So if you remember this post back in the fall we bought a precious little picnic table for $35 bucks on craigslist. All the wood was in great shape and the iron base was perfectly rusted. Our thought was instead of spending $400 on a patio set this was a cost effective way to seat 8-10 people outside for supper! So finally when I had a Sunday afternoon warm enough it came out of hiding under it's tree and got a $4 make-over! Can't wait to set it up for it's first dinner party...

My all-time favorite spray paint - indoor/outdoor and of course turqouise was my go-to! It adds such a pop of color to our backyard!

This is my best attempt to get a picture without ranger being in it..

Now time for the stripes! I just used duct tape since it sticks better than painter's tape, and some leftover white paint from other project. Note to self: don't let dog outside while you are painting, he might think it's food and start eating it out of the can...

Time for a picnic!

So of course I finished the table exactly two hours before it started raining for the second time ever in Lubbock, TX. Luckily the paint didn't run.. just a little dirt to wipe off. Excited to use it this weekend for Chuck and Ranger's joint birthday party! (yes you heard right :) )
