Around the Table

"You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows     all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever."

Psalm 23:5-6

Welcome to our Dining Room! This is probably my favorite space in the entire house. Every piece in here I am absolutely in love with and hold a special memory or story. So come on in and I'll show you around!

 See what a difference wood floors and a little paint can do??

This table is my absolute favorite thing. We knew we wanted a farmhouse so we could have lots of people over for dinner, so we searched and searched and couldn't find one less that $1,000 anywhere.  Can I please tell you how much we got this fabulously handmade one for? $200. Two words people: Canton, Texas. The chairs were a craigslist find for $150 and are soon going to be recovered! Want to know who won the contest??

Congrats Anna! Thank you everyone for participating!! I loved all the choices so much it was hard to decide but you all made it easier for sure. Anna if will message me on Facebook your address I will send you your scrap banner! Look forward to seeing the chairs recovered soon :)

This beauty of a hutch we snagged at our favorite Antique Mall in NRH, also a handmade lovely. The doors are covered in chicken wire and I realized after I had all my lovely junk inside that you could see right through it so it is now covered with some gold polka dot printed burlap!

Welcome to my china :) These are my babies. Maybe I love them more than I probably should. They are designed by a fellow ACU Alum Darbie Angell, the collection is called Lauderdale by CRU Dinnerware. They took me 9 months to get all 8 sets from my registry and then another year to be able to put them on display! Needless to say I stare at them a lot!

Isn't the color and the cute little polka dots just perfect?? The salt and pepper shakers below were given to me by Darbie with we met in person at ACU!

If you read my very first post about finding our little house this was one of the reasons I fell in love with first sight. You walked in and saw this precious little bookshelf and cabinet built it and it said to me "fill me with pretty things!" As you know shelves take a long time to come into their own and are constantly changing so don't get too attached. My vision is one day to be filled with blue and turquoise shaded books with an ombre look cascading down the shelves. SO if you see any old books in these colors send them my way!

So if you are ever in our neck of the woods please stop by for dinner, we have plenty of room at the table, you just have to like to eat!

With dining room love,

- Hailey
