Peachy Clean - A Branding Project

Good morning! As you can see I've taken a little hiatus from blogging these past couple weeks. I started a new job last week as the (get ready for a long title...) Assistant Director of Recruiting and Special Programs for the Texas Tech University Health Science Center School of Medicine Office of Admissions (whew!), so I took a little break to get in the swing of things at the Med School! So far it's been awesome - I get to see Chuck so much more and I'm looking forward to helping students follow their dream of getting into medical school!

So back in the groove and I have an exciting project that I have been working on to share with you today! A friend of a friend asked me if I would help her design a brand for her new home organizing business. Without a name or any direction we started brainstorming and came up with the name "peachy clean." It has southern roots and a downhome feel! So after many attempts at capturing what the logo should look like we finally had a winner! Check out her new logo below, along with her business cards and "to-do" lists I designed to give to clients as a gift!

Be Our Guest - Room

Well, welcome to our guest room! Aka basically my college bedroom. Being first time little homeowners it wasn't practical to buy a whole bedroom set and new bedding for our guest room so this is the precious little leftovers room. I think I spent a total of $10 on this room since we moved in. But I still love it and hopefully it's a comfy little retreat for our guests! 

Chuck hates empty frames. I love them. They are cheap, easy, and a unique way to decorate a wall. I wanted to have a "gold and silver metallic" theme in this room and these little babies help a lot! 

The bedding - a little Anthropologie set that I had my junior and senior year of college! I still just love all the colorful embroidery that looks modern yet vintage...

The BED- oh the bed. Special back story - my grandparents gave each of their children a beautiful brass bed when they got married as a wedding gift. When Charles and I got married we got to pick out a bed for our bedroom as a wedding gift. My parents just bought (for the first time since they were married 25 years ago) a new bed! So that means we got this fabulous heirloom that you can't even buy at a store anymore. It was so perfect for this room and I love having both our beds in our house from my wonderful grandparents! 

A little tea and reading for when you come to visit! 

This sewing table was my desk last year and now transformed into a little vanity for our guests! Obviously it was spray painted metallic silver and paired with this precious little gold brass vanity stool! 

This little side table was also in my college room and I've loved it since day one! I had it made/painted at a store in Abilene and will have it forever probably, even though Chuck hates it. The lamp - thrift shop find that I spray painted and paired with a little chevron shade (gasp! hailey has chevron in her house!) 

We love our little guest room and when you come visit it's all yours! For now it will constantly be used for housing my 3,895,139 dresses in its closet, and a dumping ground for clean laundry until it can be folded. Oh the life of a barely used guest room. Please come visit!

A Few Little Southern Sayings

Hey yall! It's new printables day! Check out below 5 of my favorite new prints that are in the new shop announced yesterday! As you can see most of the prints I have in the shop today are "southern" related. I already have some of these hanging in my own home and these sayings/quotes just really speak to Charles and I who have a love for anything Texas and a passion for the people that live here and the things they like to say.

I also do custom prints so if someone has a favorite quote, wedding vows, or scripture that they want on a print I love to make unique and special artwork. Stay tuned for some V-day prints and spring quotes coming soon!

A Little Shop Makeover!

Oh Etsy. When I discovered Etsy I was a sophomore in college, and the online craft market had been open for 4 years and growing every day. Growing up Mom and I would frequent craft fairs, thrift stores and antique shops as often as we could, and still do to this day. So imagine my excitement when I found out I could do all that shopping ONLINE. It was unthinkable. 

I got so wrapped up looking at gorgeous handmade jewelry, stationary, and little thrift items that were photographed so beautifully I was willing to pay more than $1 just to have that treasure someone found in Wyoming in my own room. Also sophomore year I started to take some design classes in school and really found a passion for "digital scrap booking." Sounds dumb but growing up I also scrap booked like no one's business. I might have 20+ scrapbooks hiding out at my parents house with hundreds of pages filled with thousands of pictures, each layout perfectly designed and decorated. So to my amazement digitally scrap booking is cheaper, easier, faster, and I don't burn myself on the hot glue gun quite as much. So junior and senior year I learned even more about design, deciding that I was going to create my own wedding stationary end of my senior year. It was so fun and really loved that it was exactly how I wanted it to look. I got so many compliments and people started asking me to do their wedding stationary. So fall of 2012 I opened my very own Etsy shop and titled it "Pure Parchement". 

After a year of designing countless invites, cards, and prints for family, friends and strangers, with a hundred different colors, dozens of different fonts and patterns, here we are today with a look all my own. So if you read yesterday's post you know that I announced my new branding board and logo. Really the whole point of re-branding was to make my Etsy shop cohesive and really define my designs. It is so SO helpful to have guidelines when designing or you will have designs over in the far left field. Many of the designs now in my shop were a simple upgrade to the new branding and color palette, but some of them are brand spankin' new and are some of my new favorites! I will share more specific designs tomorrow and Wednesday but today check out the shop view, take a visit, and let me know what you think!
